Marcelo Salaza
Here's a great drawing of Vigil by Marcelo Salaza, one of the artists from Ronin Studios. Lots of energy and a cool design.

Page 3

Well Brett has finished the drawing and inking of theVigil story. It runs 11 pages. Now I am looking to find a letterer and then off to publication. Not sure yet where I am going to place the story. I could have it in one of Ronin's anthology books or maybe somewhere else. Still, I really enjoyed workign with Brett on this character. I have several more ideas for Vigil stories so I will have to get to scripting one up very soon.
Here's a look at page 3...

Finished Page 1 and Page 2
Well here are the finished first two pages. Brett did a great job on them. I love being able to view the comparison from the roughs to the finished pages. Great stuff. I'm not sure if I'm going to have this story done in greyscale or not yet. I really like how Brett uses blacks so I guess I'll wait til all the pages are done to decide.
And this is page 2...

Page 1 and Page 2
Well Brett has been working on the Vigil story for some time now. And he has made some really helpful suggestions and additions for the story as we have gone over the plot I sent him. Here are his rough breakdowns for the first two pages of the story.

Another Concept Pic
A Different Take
Many of you reading this probably know me as the creator/writer of the independent comic book series, The Venger: Dead man Rising. The series has received much critical acclaim for its realistic look at super heroes etc. Now for fans and readers of that series that is not a true descriprion of the book but it will suffice.
With Vigil I want to take a similar approach but 'bump' it a little closer to your typical comic book. In Venger the characters do not have powers, in Vigil they do. And Vigil is the most powerful. The character of Vigil in essence is my version of the 'Superman' archtype, the god among men.
Initially I have a ten page story with Vigil in development and ideas for a longer porject as well. Brett Wood, the artist from the Venger/ Footpath: EndGame crossover book is drawing the initial story. Here is a character design for Vigil by Brett based from a design I came up with.
